About me
My passion for coding and crafting innovative solutions came at a young age from my love of video games. I still remember the sense of awe I first felt when I received my Nintendo DS and the countless hours I would spend playing games on the system.
This enthusiasm led a curious 10th grader to develop Asteroid Blisters, a side-scrolling platformer created in Scratch Programming. In this game, players control a robot dodging projectiles in the form of asteroids and shooting stars. Despite encountering numerous bugs, this experience introduced me to the skill set needed to transform abstract ideas into a tangible product for others to enjoy.
I developed my passion in college, choosing to major in Computer Science. Alongside academic studies, I had the privilege of interning at RNI Designs & Associates and Lockheed Martin. Despite differing organizational missions, both experiences required adaptability and on-the-job learning. Working in a team environment, embracing the Agile Scrum Methodology, mastering tools like GitHub, and so on further enhanced my communication skills and efficiency in teamwork. These encounters not only honed my programming abilities but also improved my capacity to convey ideas and collaborate effectively.
When balancing out my life from coding, two of my favorite hobbies as of late have been learning Portuguese and sewing. Growing up surrounded by Brazilian culture, I always enjoyed the idea of being able to speak to extended family and friends fluently. It wasn’t till last year, however, that I seriously emersed myself in learning the Portuguese language. Some days it's a struggle to speak and listen in a language I am not fluent in. But just like with programming and learning any type of language, there’s a sense of progression with every passing day and it’s fascinating to experience this incremental progression.
Sewing acts as an alternative creative outlet for me when I am not coding. I believe that how one presents oneself reflects heavily on their character. Sewing gives me the ability to design and create clothing for myself and others that not only looks good and fitted but also conveys subtle ideas of who that person is.
My career objective is to secure a full-time position related to full-stack development. If you are a tech recruiter and/or someone aspiring to turn ambitious dreams into a tech-based reality, please feel free to reach out!
